In a video released by the Washington Capitals' official Twitter account, Alexander Ovechkin, or Ovi, as he is known by fans, is shown hitting the steel door repeatedly until it cracks open.

The Capitals' captain showed off his skills with a police-grade battering ram in a team building exercise in Stafford County, Virginia. His teammates can be heard in the background laughing and cheering him on. Fellow teammate Evgeny Kuznetsov also took a shot at the door.

The Washington Capitals paid a visit to the training center for a team-building event on Wednesday. The visit has become an annual tradition under head coach Barry Trotz, who became the team's coach in 2014. In addition to breaking down doors, players received training in one on one hand to hand combat.

Ovechkin is known as one of the best professional hockey players in the NHL and around the world, hitting 500 NHL career goals during the 2015-2016 season. A mainstay of the Washington Capitals since 2005, Ovi continues to play for Russia during international events.

With nine goals and one assist in seven matches so far during the 2017-2018 season, Ovechkin is leading the pack in points scored so far.
