French Inmates Come Down With #MannequinChallenge 'Fever' (VIDEO)

The entire world is going nuts over the viral #MannequinChallenge, and French prisons are no exception! Inmates of the Villepinte detention center joined the "online craze in vogue," offering a chance to see some of their life from the inside.

Don't you dare say this #MannequinChallenge attempt isn't perfect.

The clip shot by detainees of the Villepinte Prison in Seine-Saint-Denis, a French department located in the Île-de-France region, was published November 28 on Actu pénitentiaire's (Prison News) Facebook account.

The inmates posed like mannequins during a walk in the prison yard, with Rae Sremmurd's Black Beatles music on the background, which became an essential part of such videos. Some of them were frozen mid-fight; others were smoking, using mobile phones, buying weed and even trying to sneak a bundle of banknotes.

Obviously, this joke did not sit well with the guards — the prison administration reacted as soon as the masterpiece was published. A search, which was conducted the next day in the cells of at least 20 prisoners identified on the video, resulted in confiscated mobile phones and increased penalties.

Another prison #MannequinChallenge video was shot inside the Alabama Department of Corrections, prompting staff to launch investigation, too, in order to find out where the video came from. Published November 13 on Facebook, the clip involved some 40 inmates dressed in white uniforms standing still in fighting poses, doing push-ups, reading and praying in a prison dormitory.
