GM foods: a great deal of promise or a great deal of harm?

GM foods are becoming increasingly common in many countries, however, it is very important to know about advantages and disadvantages of GMOs.

On the one hand, GM foods are said to help in controlling the occurrence of certain allergies due to their modified DNA. However, these foods are new inventions and not much is known about their long-term effects on human beings.
