Russia’s national ice hockey team have been handed the keys to brand-new cars – a gift promised to them by President Vladimir Putin for their spectacular victory at the World Championship in Belarus, the RIA Novosti news agency reports.

Anton Khudobin, Carolina Hurricanes goalkeeper, and some of his Russian teammates have posted photos of their new cars in social networks.

Russia became the World Ice Hockey Champion for the fifth time in post-Soviet history after beating Finland 5:2 in the final match on May 27.
