Kim Jong-un unanimously elected to North Korea’s Supreme People’s Assembly

The leader of the Workers’ Party of Korea, Kim Jong-un, has been unanimously elected to the Supreme People’s Assembly, according to a report, circulated by the Korean Central News Agency of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea on Monday.

The North Korean leader’s district recorded a 100% turnout during the election, the news agency points out. This is an expression of all the service personnel and people's absolute support and profound trust in supreme leader Kim Jong-un, the news agency says.

The Supreme People's Assembly of North Korea meets rarely, often only once a year. The first meeting of the new lineup of the Supreme People’s Assembly is expected to be held in April, but the exact date has not been disclosed.
