Venezuela's acting president Nicolas Maduro has announced that the office where the late President Hugo Chavez worked will be turned into a museum.

Mr Maduro said the room would be kept intact, with a wing of the presidential palace turned into a monument to Mr Chavez's "Bolivarian revolution".

Chavez died on March 5th after losing a battle with cancer. He was at the country’s helm for 14 years, and months before his demise enjoyed success at presidential elections.

Following his death, new presidential elections were called for 14 April, with vice-president Maduro appointed acting president.

At the elections on April 14th Maduro is pitted against main opposition candidate Henrique Capriles.
