Egypt’s Minister of Justice Ahmed Mahnoud Mekki has come out for full amnesty for the former president Hosni Mubarak on condition that the people of Egypt support this at a nation-wide referendum, the PANORAMA on-line daily reported. According to the minister, Egypt’s new Constitution allows conducting a nation-wide plebiscite on a number of important issues, including the pardoning of the ousted president.

The High Administrative Court of Egypt acknowledged Monday the return of Mubarak to power as impossible, rejecting the defence complaint on the lawlessness of the former president’s resignation.
