Exhibition of Soviet children’s books in The Hague
These books are mainly from private collections of Dutch citizens.
The museum’s director Maartje de Haan says that Russian illustrators of children’s books have had a great influence on Dutch art.
“Soviet children’s books are very special,” Ms. de Haan says. “Besides fairy tales, or, say, stories about animals, they also tell much about life in the Soviet Union, the work of plants and factories.”
