Georgian PM urges Moscow-Tbilisi fence-mending

Speaking to reporters in Tbilisi on Thursday, Georgian Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili called for restoring and developing trade, economic and cultural ties with Russia.

He said that in previous years, the President Mikhail Saakashvili ‘team’ artificially blocked the process of improving Georgian-Russian ties, but now this team will not be able to prevent bilateral fence-mending.

As an example, Ivanishvili pointed to ongoing attempts by former Prime Minister Vano Merabishvili to stage protest rallies in the wake of renowned Georgian folk group Erisioni’s tour to Moscow.
