Federal Reserve 'bomber' pleads guilty

The Bangladeshi student responsible for plotting to detonate a truck bomb outside the New York Federal Reserve has pleaded guilty to terrorism related charges.

Quazi Nafis was arrested last October as part of an FBI sting operation where federal agents, posing as his accomplices, supplied Nafis with a fake 1,000-pound bomb which they parked outside the Federal Reserve Bank in lower Manhattan. The student was detained as he tried to activate the bomb with the help of a cell phone.

Quazi Nafis faces life in jail for plotting the use of a mass destruction weapon and to set up a terrorist group in the United States.
