Costa Concordia crew sue for damages

Three former crew members of the Costa Concordia , the cruise liner which early this year ran aground on an island off the coast of Tuscany, have sued the cruise company for damages.

Three former crew members of the Costa Concordia, the cruise liner which early this year ran aground on an island off the coast of Tuscany, have sued the cruise company for damages.

During a press conference Thursday in Bari, the three announced that through their lawyers they had asked Costa Crociere to pay damages for three million euros, one million each, and accused the company of taking advantage of their psychologically fragile state after the accident.

According to the three, immediately after the January 13 accident, which killed 32 people, Costa attempted to "silence all the crew members through the payment of the ridiculous sum of 10,000 euros".
