Russia’s Roskosmos space agency will spend 65 million rubles on creating an automatic space debris warning system.

A tender for such a system has been posted on the Roskosmos website.

The system should be able to ‘cover’ 30 spacecraft and issue a threat warning 30 hours in advance.

In addition, it will warn of the time the spaceship will come off orbit and pinpoint the area where it will crash back to Earth one month in advance.

Roskosmos is currently setting up a special service to monitor space debris and ensure the security of spacecraft.
