The BBC has offered an apology about a comedy quiz show aired last month in which a deceased Japanese man who survived two atomic bombings during World War II was described as "The Unluckiest Man in the World."

The host on the show explained that Tsutomu Yamaguchi was badly burned by the atomic bomb when he was in Hiroshima when the first atom bomb fell and then got on a train to Nagasaki and the atom bomb fell again, drawing laughs from the show's personalities and the audience.

Tsutomu Yamaguchi died in 2010 at the age of 93.
