'This is No Liberation': US Coalition 'Lays Waste' to Raqqa
The US-led coalition has been often blamed for killing civilians in Syria and Raqqa in particular amid an operation to kick Daesh out from its stronghold.

Earlier this month Damascus accused the US-led coalition forces of conducting an airstrike against a hospital in Raqqa using phosphorous bombs. Earlier in June the coalition admitted that its forces had used white phosphorus munitions during the Raqqa offensive.

Raqqa has remained under the control of Daesh since 2013. In June, the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces, supported by the US-led coalition launched an operation to free the "capital" of the self-proclaimed caliphate. At the same time, the coalition's activities have not been authorized by the Syrian government or the UN Security Council and have been repeatedly criticized by Damascus.
