Jon Huntsman has described his approach to US-Russian relationships, which currently have reached a new low.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — New US Ambassador to Russia Jon Huntsman said Monday he planned to work with Russia's leaders to find practical solutions to problems in bilateral relations.

Upon Huntsman's arrival, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that Moscow hoped the new US ambassador to Russia would contribute to the restoration of bilateral relations. According to him, Russian President Vladimir Putin is a supporter of the restoration of the Russia-US relations and believes that this is in the interests of the two nations and the world, on the whole.
