MOSCOW (Sputnik) – "Yet in the near future Russian experts will travel to Geneva to resume consultations with the United States on searching for the possible ways of improving the situation in the area of Aleppo and in Syria in general," Lt. Gen. Viktor Poznikhir, first deputy chief of the Main Operational Directorate of the Russian General Staff, said at a news briefing in the Defense Ministry.
According to Poznikhir, Russian defense and foreign ministries are ready to continue joint Russia-US efforts on Syrian peace process.
Earlier on Wednesday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and US Secretary of State John Kerry agreed on the need to return to basic principles of the Russia-US agreements on Syrian peace process.
