The so-called Zubaboxes give local residents an opportunity to study or just use the Internet for free. The project was initiated by the non-profit organization Computer Aid International.
The containers are equipped with computers and are powered by a solar panel placed on a container's roof. This is not only an environmentally friendly approach, but it also solves the problem of electricity shortages in poor communities.
Previously such containers functioned only in remote areas in Africa. In particular, they were placed in the regions with high numbers of refugees.
