Could Kosovo's Leaders Stand Trial for War Crimes?
An opposition MP hurled an unidentified device inside the Kosovo parliament building, filling the chamber with pungent smoke, media reports said.

The footage of the incident showed Kosovo MPs promptly leaving the chamber after the opposition lawmaker threw what apparently was a smoke pellet.

Some media outlets reported that several opposition lawmakers had used tear gas and whistles so as to interrupt a parliament session.

The opposition has been trying to disrupt the work of Kosovo's parliament for weeks in order to voice protest against a recent EU-brokered deal to improve ties between Belgrade and Pristina. The agreement gives Kosovo's Serb-majority areas greater autonomy.

Opposition activists, who staged a demonstration on Thursday, demand that the government should backtrack from the deal, which they say endangers Kosovo's territorial integrity.

The governing coalition, in turn, accused the opposition of attempting to come to power through unconstitutional means.

During a speech by Kosovo Prime Minister Isa Mustafa in parliament in September, several opposition lawmakers suddenly stood and began throwing eggs at him; his bodyguard immediately rushed to shield him with an umbrella.

Another such incident took place earlier this week, when Mustafa remained unabated in the street after opposition activists threw eggs at him in a show of protest.

Despite an improvement  in relations in recent years, Serbia still rejects Kosovo's secession which occurred in 2008.
