The situation in Idlib has calmed down after talks between Russian President Putin and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan in the Kremlin. The presidents struck a ceasefire agreement creating a humanitarian corridor and establishing joint patrols in the province.
The deal stopped the escalation in the region following Turkey launching "Operation Spring Shield" earlier this week. Ankara was responding to an airstrike performed against the militants in Idlib by the Syrian Army that killed at least 34 Turkish servicemen.
According to Turkey's Defence Ministry, the retaliatory strike "neutralised" at least 300 Syrian soldiers and numerous military vehicles.
