The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) said in a statement Friday it had imposed a four-year ban on Russian triple-jumper Anna Pyatykh over the violation of anti-doping rules.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — It was noted that Pyatykh had vioalted the International Association of Athletics Federations' (IAAF) rules on prohibited substances.

The ban takes effect starting on 15 December 2016, the date of commencement of the athlete's provisional suspension, according to the CAS' statement.

The CAS added it had disqualified the results of Pyatykh including those showed at the 2007 IAAF World Championships in Osaka.

"We do not see any sense in appealing this decision," Shliakhtin told the R-Sport news agency.

Pyatykh won two bronze medals at the 2005 and 2009 IAAF World Championships held in Helsinki and Berlin respectively.
