Russian takes bronze in women's triple jump in Berlin

Russian Anna Pyatykh won a bronze medal in the triple jump at the World Championships in Athletics in Berlin with a distance of 14.58 meters.

MOSCOW, August 18 (RIA Novosti) - Russian Anna Pyatykh won a bronze medal in the triple jump at the World Championships in Athletics in Berlin with a distance of 14.58 meters.

The 28-year-old, who also took bronze at the 2005 championships in Helsinki, missed out on the silver medal by three centimeters in Monday's final.

Cuban Yargeris Savigne won gold with a jump of 14.95 meters, while her compatriot Mabel Gay recorded a season-best 14.61 meters to place second.

Russian former world champion Tatyana Lebedeva, who won silver at the Beijing Olympics last year, finished sixth.
