- The local police confirmed that it was a terrorist attack.
- The police reccomended people to avoid the area.
- The suspect fled the scene.
- Shortly after the incident, two armed men broke into a restaurant nearby.
- At the same time, local media reported, that armed perpetrators of the attack barricaded themselves in a Turkish restaurant near Boqueria market taking hostages.
- El Periodico newspaper reported that the suspected perpetrator was a man of 5’7’’ wearing a white shirt with blue stripes.
- The police is holding negotiations with the suspects.
- The CIA has reportedly warned the Catalan police of possible terrorist attack prior to the van ramming in Barcelona's city center on Thursday.
