Trump to Hold Major Press Conference on Leaving Business to Focus on Presidency

US President-elect Donald Trump said he will hold a press conference on December 15 where he will elaborate on leaving his business to fully focus on running the country.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — On November 8, Trump won the US presidential election by gaining a major electoral lead over Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton. The inauguration of the US president-elect will take place on January 20

“I will be holding a major news conference in New York City with my children on December 15 to discuss the fact that I will be leaving my great business in total in order to fully focus on running the country in order to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! While I am not mandated to do this under the law, I feel it is visually important, as President, to in no way have a conflict of interest with my various businesses,” Trump wrote on his Twitter account.

On November 22, Ranking Member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and senior member of the Finance Committee Ben Cardin said Trump should convert his assets to conflict-free holdings, adopt blind trusts and take other measures to avoid conflict of interest.
