Mainstream Media 'Still in Denial of What Happened to Them' After Trump Win

The mainstream media is "in denial" over the impact WikiLeaks and its audience of millions on social networks had on the US election, by revealing the extent of Democrat and media collusion to award Hillary the presidency, former British diplomat Craig Murray told Radio Sputnik.

In July WikiLeaks released a collection of emails sent by the Democratic National Convention revealing that the party's administration rigged its election process in favor of Hillary Clinton, at the expense of rival Bernie Sanders.

In its latest DNC leak, released November 6, WikiLeaks revealed that journalists from the mainstream US media continued to collude with the Clinton campaign after its candidate won the Democratic nomination. In more than one case, interim DNC chair Donna Brazile was found to have forwarded CNN's debate questions to Clinton ahead of time, disadvantaging rivals Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump during their respective debates.

In October, WikiLeaks also began to release batches of emails from the hacked account of the Clinton campaign chair John Podesta. One email, sent from a top campaign aide, shows that the Clinton camp deliberately supported the candidacy of Donald Trump, Ted Cruz and Ben Carson in the hope that the unpopular Clinton would be able to beat one of them.

"We need to be elevating the Pied Piper candidates so that they are leaders of the pack and tell the press to (take) them seriously," Marissa Astor, assistant to Clinton campaign manager Robby Mook, wrote.

Whistleblower Craig Murray, former British ambassador to Uzbekistan, told Radio Sputnik that the leaked emails played a major role in the election and gained an audience of millions on social networks. However, they were, and continue to be, ignored by the mainstream media.

"I watched six hours of analysis of the elections last night, not just the BBC but foreign mainstream media channels including American ones. In six hours of watching, I didn't hear one mention of WikiLeaks, or the revelations," Murray said.

"During the election campaign, the mainstream media hardly mentioned them at all. They hoped nobody would notice, or it would go away. Or if they mentioned them it was only to say 'it was the Russians' and then avoid discussing the content."

"Now afterwards, they're pretending it didn't happen, they're still not mentioning the WikiLeaks revelations as a major factor in influencing the result of this election. It's quite extraordinary, the mainstream media are totally and utterly in denial as to what has happened to them."

Both Trump and Clinton's Democratic rival Bernie Sanders offered angry voters an alternative to the prevailing political system, and the Democrat rigging against Sanders deprived American voters of Sanders' more ideological discussion of the country's future, Murray said.

"People are sick and tired of the political establishment, and Bernie Sanders gave them a chance to discuss that in a constructive way and to try to take a social way forward that was against the political establishment and looking for much greater equality in society."

"After Sanders wasn't selected and pushed away by what we now know was anti-democratic behavior by Clinton and the DNC, then that anti-establishment mood switched to Trump and a rather more anarchic and worrying manifestation."

Ten years ago, WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange wrote an essay called "Conspiracy as Governance," in which he described political parties as one form of conspiracy, and outlined the best way to attack such a conspiracy.

"Let us consider two closely balanced and broadly conspiratorial power groupings, the US Democratic and Republican parties," Assange wrote.

"Consider what would happen if one of these parties gave up their mobile phones, fax and email correspondence — let alone the computer systems which manage their subscribers, donors, budgets, polling, call centers and direct mail campaigns? They would immediately fall into an organizational stupor and lose to the other."

While WikiLeaks has had a major impact on the US election, Murray doesn't think Julian Assange actually set out ten years ago to hack the Democrats. Instead, people in the American establishment disillusioned with the Clinton's corruption leaked information to the organization.

"WikiLeaks is a publisher, they publish stuff that is given to them. In this case, people within the American establishment who are absolutely sickened by the corruption of the Clintons, leaked the stuff to WikiLeaks."

"That's always going to be a danger, and political parties can't really guard against that. It doesn't matter how many firewalls and blinds you have, if you have people on the inside who are sickened by what you're doing and choose to blow the whistle, that is the hardest thing to guard against," Murray said.

Of course psychologically its devastating to the extremists that work in media (most not all) to feel there power has been subverted and that they are powerless to manipulate and control.

So in their own words, the left favored the republican candidates with the most extreme conservative positions, believing that the people would reject them ?

Do they seriously believe that the majority support extreme multikulti, LGBT and feminist agenda as their core values ??? that they have no other priorities, like earning more, pay their mortgage, or even for a good part of them, have food and a roof, find a job ?

WIKILEAKS proved the mainstream media was involved with the DNC in illegal activities trying to sway public opinion towards the progressive liberals. With all of the corruption the media was involved in the true die hard Americans that are the foundation of the US were sick and tired of seeing their country deteriorate. These are the hard working Americans of every background that came together to say enough. They will now demand to close its borders and give background checks to everyone first, they will demand a stable health care system, there will be a rule of law across the nation with respect to law enforcement. Protesters that destroy property illegally will be dealt with accordingly, the infrastructure of the US will rebuild now, the liberal progressive ideology will be behind them . The American people will not tolerate putting foreigners first anymore. It will be the American people first in their own country then and only then will illegals be allowed to enter and if they enter they will have to follow the rule of law or get out !

Journalism is what you study now in the USA if you flunk out of the basket-weaving degree course sequence.

They know the truth but they don't want it. They want to keep how it is because mainstream media do not work for the ordinary people outside. They do work for themselves. It's kind of entertainment industry with their people, culture, ideas, business promoted. They interviewing themselves and it's even them who watch themselves, and celebrate themselves, millions people involved, owners, employees, friends of friends etc, and some small numbers of stupid people also of course.

Perhaps the EU corrupt cupola may hatch a change of regime in the USA. It is easy because the EU and the USA, CIA, and NATO have experience in regimen change for many years. A doubts this happen because these countries that conform the EU are just blood suckers of the USA economy. The USA is a signatory of the World Trade Organization so the USA under Trump will have to assert its exceptionalism as the maximum power in the world.

The US media is rigged and ignores real facts but only promotes the topics of importance to their special interest masters. The newsmen are paid handsomely (in $millions) in order to brainwash American people and steer them away from hard facts. Throughout Trump's campaign, the media lied about the polls and persistently painted a negative picture of Trump and were convinced that Clinton would win. I enjoyed watching the three main American networks anchors faces after Trump's victory to see how shocked they were and how stupid they looked. They repeat the same lie so often that they believed it themselves.

It would be nice to look through some media archives and find out the "press" response to being "told" what to "pay attention" to! We obviously know they "paid attention" to Trump -- but Carson's name was prominent enough, and Cruz's obviously so as well! It sounds like the DNC media machine was promoting Trump coverage. Well, Trump coverage it got!
