US Presidential Election 2016: Voting Day and Results (82)

An undetermined number of ballots have been lost and a scanner broke at a polling station in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, causing a multiple-hour delay and a voter line that stretched over several blocks, a Sputnik reporter witnessed on Tuesday morning.

NEW YORK (Sputnik) — Less than two hours after the opening of the polling station, a member of New York Police Department announced that the ballots have been misplaced.

Shortly after the announcement, the waiting line to the polling station significantly shortened because numerous voters gave up and left.

After replacing the missing ballots, the remainder of the voters encountered the problem of a scanner being out of service.

Sheenah’s frustration was echoed by dozens of other residents who said they spent hours in waiting lines to cast ballots.

Brooklyn is the palce where Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton's campaign headquarters is located.
