US Army Post in Alabama Reports Possible Active Shooter
WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — A team from the US Army Aviation Center of Excellence in the state of Alabama has developed a free active shooter emergency mobile application for the military and the public, the Army Training and Doctrine Command said in a statement.

"[The application will] have the necessary and vital information that will save lives, time, and educate those with little or no training on active-shooter response situations," the Operations Officer at the Army Office of the Provost Marshal General, Capt. Dylan Gallagan said in the statement on Wednesday.

The application will soon be released for free download from the Google Play, iTunes and other online stores, the statement noted.

Users tap on an icon to open the application and then select another one to reach the emergency dialer, the statement explained. The program can also be run in Spanish.
