Russia Willing to Work With Trump to Eliminate Daesh 'as Soon as Possible'
WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The US-led coalition of more than 60 nations has been conducting airstrikes against the Daesh in Syria and Iraq since 2014. The strikes in Syria are not authorized by the government of President Bashar Assad or the United Nations Security Council.

"My recommendations would be the need for the United States to remain actively engaged as leader of this coalition to ensure that we deliver ISIL [Daesh] a lasting defeat, and continue to protect our homelands," Carter stated.
