Moscow is ready to cooperate with Donald Trump's administration and eliminate Daesh "as soon as possible", Russia's deputy foreign minister said.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Russia is ready to cooperate and interact on all levels to fight terrorism with the new administration of US President-elect Donald Trump, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said Monday.

"Daesh is the number one topic for the new team and for the president-elect. We are ready, with our sleeves rolled up and without losing a day, when our partners will be ready for this, to take part in interaction, coordination on all levels from the highest political to operational [level] to eliminate this threat as soon as possible," Ryabkov told the International Affairs portal.

He called on Russia and the United States to act "in tandem."

Obama Administration 'Leaving for Trump Only Ruins'

The Barack Obama administration is leaving Trump with a very difficult inheritance regarding Russia, Ryabkov said.

"The Obama administration… is leaving for Trump only ruins, the new US president will get from his predecessor a very difficult inheritance in relations with Russia," the diplomat said. "I think that in that issue [on Syrian settlement], too, Trump will inherit a huge problem from his predecessor," Ryabkov added.
