MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin said that both parties would continue to hold consultations as they are advantageous to both Russia and Iran.
“The comparison of positions and exchange of opinions are always useful, especially during international tension. We’ll continue this dialogue,” Karasin told RIA Novosti.
The two countries held consultations on the foreign ministerial level on a number of bilateral projects, including the modernization of Iran’s railway systems, and the situation in Syria and Ukraine, according go the deputy foreign minister.
“Specific projects were discussed, including the ones in the area of transportation as well as issues tied to relations in the region and tensions that the international community is attempting to solve around Syria,” Karasin told RIA Novosti.
Moscow and Tehran have also discussed in detail Iran's relations with the Eurasian Economic Union.
“Iran’s relations with the Eurasian Economic Union were also discussed. As a whole and in some detail,” Karasin said.
He did not give any specifics of what exactly the focus of the discussion was on during the talks.
