WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The latest contract is in addition to a previously announced $42.7 million contract to provide support and maintenance for the BFT-1 program, the release explained.

"This award demonstrates the critical role that our Mobile Datacom organization continues to play in providing the US military with trusted BFT-1 satellite tracking communication capability," the release stated.

BFT, or Blue Force Tracking, consists of a terminal and antenna that can both track the position of satellites and transmit data to military commanders.
