There are around 400,000 internally displaced persons (IDP) in the Syrian city of Aleppo, UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura said Thursday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Some 30,000 people have been displaced in recent days, the UN official said.

“There is a figure, a figure which you need to take into account and which we were confronted with today … in Aleppo there are 400,000  IDPs …. This is basically the equivalent or maybe more than Syrian refugees in the whole Europe,” de Mistura told a briefing.
