MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Three members of the Frontier Corps (FC) provincial paramilitary force were killed in a grenade attack in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province's capital Peshawar, the Daily Pakistan newspaper reported.
A civilian was also injured in the attack, according to the publication.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is a major center of militancy in Pakistan linked with neighboring Afghanistan's Taliban insurgency. The Taliban unsuccessfully attempted to take over the province in 2004. Levels of violence dropped substantially since 2014, when Pakistan's armed forces launched the Zarb-e-Azb operation against a number of militant groups operating in the country.
