UNITED NATIONS (Sputnik) The International Syria Support Group (ISSG) will reach a decision on the Syrian ceasefire and aid assistance to the country on Thursday, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu told Sputnik.

"I have no doubt that there will be another decision on cessation of hostilities and humanitarian aid or assistance and perspective of political solution or transition," Cavusoglu stated on Thursday.

Direct cooperation mechanisms between Turkey and Russia on the Syrian conflict resolution are working very effectively, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said.

“There are different mechanisms between us on the political, military, intelligence level and that mechanism is working very efficiently,” Cavusoglu stated on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.

Turkish authorities are in favor of holding the next round of Syria peace talks, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu told Sputnik on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly on Thursday.

"It is up to both sides, the opposition and the regime, without getting the confirmation or agreement of both sides announcing the [Syrian talks] date in unrealistic. Stephan [de Mistura] should get actually the confirmation or agreement to start work," Cavusoglu stated. "That is what we are supporting."
