    US Military in Iraq Stays Within 3,870 Forces Amid New Marine Deployment

    Operation Inherent Resolve spokesman Col. Steve Warren said that the number of the US troops on ground in Iraq is 3,870.

    WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The total number of US troops on ground in Iraq remains within established force cap amid recent deployment of a contingent of marines to the country, Operation Inherent Resolve spokesman Col. Steve Warren said in a briefing on Monday.

    "The number is 3870, is the exact force cap," Warren stated. "We remain within our force cap."
