The US State Department issued a warning to US citizens claiming that a terrorist attack was likely in the Pakistani capital of Islamabad during holiday season, local media reported.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — According to the Fox News television channel’s Saturday report, the agency had received "threat information." Places of worship and shopping malls were likely targets, according to the media outlet.

The channel reported that the agency had issued a travel warning for Pakistan in August.

In November, the State Department issued a travel alert, warning US citizens about possible risks due to increased terrorist threats globally.
