WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The United States cannot confirm at this point the country will send a delegation to the funeral of former Cuban leader Fidel Castro, White House spokesperson Josh Earnest said in a press briefing on Monday.
"I don’t have any news to make on the US delegation to Mr. Castro’s funeral. I can’t even confirm that there will be one at this point," Earnest stated.
The spokesman added, "I can confirm for you that neither the president nor the vice president will attend…I don’t want to lead you to conclude that the secretary of state is thinking of attending."
