MOSCOW (Sputnik) — At least 30 people reportedly died in Brazil overnight after a tourist bus plunged 400 meters (1312 feet) into a ravine in the southern in Santa Catarina province, the local G1 news portal said Sunday.
There were reportedly 50 passengers in the bus. At least 11 are reported to be injured.
According to preliminary data, the driver lost control of the vehicle during a turn, causing it to veer off the road.
Over a dozen of ambulances rushed to the site of the crash near the town of Campo Alegre. Media reports say growing darkness is hindering the search-and-rescue operation.
