Paris Prosecutors Open Preliminary Probe Into Leaks of Extremism Case Materials

Paris prosecutors opened a preliminary investigation into the leak of personal records of people on the wanted list on suspicion of radicalization, French media reported Wednesday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — According to the BFMTV broadcaster, the investigation was opened on Tuesday and would concern the photos of several suspects circulated on social media.

The photos were released, most notably, by reporter Jean-Paul Ney via his Twitter account.

France is currently under the state of emergency, which was introduced following the terrorist attacks in November 2015. The country has experienced several attacks since then, the most recent being the murder of a policeman in the center of Paris in April, days before the first round of the presidential election.
