The Polish Foreign Ministry has refuted all alleged links between the firing of deputy foreign minister Robert Grey and his reported cooperation with American intelligence.

WARSAW (Sputnik) – On Wednesday, Gazeta Wyborcza reported that Grey lost his job because he concealed the fact that he cooperated with US special services. A foreign ministry representative confirmed Grey’s dismissal without giving the reason for the decision.

The Polish Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday, as quoted by RMF radio, that Grey’s dismissal "stems from a change in the concept of management of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs" and that the ministry "strongly denies unsubstantiated reports of some media that his dismissal has to do with the alleged concealment of his cooperation with the US special services."

Grey’s parents immigrated to the United States from Poland when he was a child. Grey returned to Poland in 2010.
