MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Russia continues to actively react against Ukraine's provocative and destructive actions, including espionage in Crimea, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Thursday.
"Ukraine's provocative, destructive activities continue often, including in Crimea. Naturally, it meets strong opposition through our special services, which are doing what they should be doing," Peskov told reporters.
The Kremlin spokesman deferred comment on the latest detention of a former Russian Black Sea Fleet service member suspected of passing state secrets to Ukraine.
Parkhomenko is suspected of collecting information on the activities of the Black Sea Fleet and passing classified information to the Defense Intelligence office of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense.
The FSB said it opened a high treason case under the Russian Criminal Code and is conducting an investigation.
