YEREVAN (Sputnik) — According to the Zhamanak newspaper, there are several scenarios of establishing the opposition bloc, while the most probable is the alliance of the Civil Contract party, formed by Armenian parliamentarian Nikol Pashinyan, and the opposition Republic party.
Head of the Republic party Aram Sargsyan repeatedly said that he would take part in the upcoming elections in a bloc format in cooperation with the forces opposing Armenia’s membership in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), the newspaper reported.
Meanwhile, liberal party Heritage, promoting Armenia’s association with the European Union, may also join the bloc. Deputy Chairman of the party Armen Martirosyan confirmed to the paper that the negotiations on establishment of a pre-election bloc were being held, but did not specify the possible members.
