UK Prime Minister Theresa May hopes to build "that new united Britain in which everyone plays by the same rules".

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — UK Prime Minister Theresa May will use her speech at the Conservative Party Conference in Birmingham on Wednesday to reposition the Conservative Party on the "new center ground" politics, aimed at serving working-class people, the party said in a press release.

"I want to set our party and our country on the path towards the new center ground of British politics — built on the values of fairness and opportunity — where everyone plays by the same rules and where every single person, regardless of their background or that of their parents, is given the chance to be all they want to be," May will say in her final speech at the conference, as quoted in the press release.

The prime minister is expected to contrast this inclusive vision of British politics to the "divisive" Labour Party, which embraces "politics of pointless protests" following its conference in Liverpool on September 28. She will say that the government should focus on serving working-class people.

"And if we do – if we act to correct unfairness and injustice and put government at the service of ordinary working people – we can build that new united Britain in which everyone plays by the same rules, and in which the powerful and the privileged no longer ignore the interests of the people," May will say in her speech.

According to the press release, the Conservative Party's service to working-class people is expected to include, among other, an independent review of employment practices, an immigration consultation and a 5 billion pounds ($6.3 billion) housing package.

May replaced David Cameron as the UK prime minister following his resignation after Britain decided to leave the European Union in a June referendum. She had previously served as the home secretary.
