"The police chief informed that the bag had been moved to a secure location inside the airport. There, bomb technicians continue their work. The site will continue to be cordoned off and will not be accessible to the public. Other cordons have been lifted, which means that all passengers can access the departure lounge and may begin to check in their luggage, and other activities can restart," duty officer Anette Wilhelmsson of Sodermanland police district said in a statement.

The airport also confirmed on its website that the terminal was reopened.

According to the media, the passenger owning the bag was an elderly woman. The preliminary investigation and questioning of the woman are still ongoing, the police said.

Information on the bag's contents will be shared once the bomb squad finishes its work, police said.
