Member states of the European Union should share intelligence on terrorists from third-party countries with the Schengen Information System (SIS-2), Luxembourg Deputy Prime Minister Etienne Schneider said Friday.

BRUSSELS (Sputnik) – "I called on national authorities to make regular data entries on all foreign terrorist fighters to the SIS-2," Schenider said on the sidelines of a meeting of the European Justice and Home Affairs Council in Brussels.

Launched in April 2013, the SIS-2 accelerates the exchange of information between the government bodies of the Schengen zone member states.

Speaking at the announcement of a comprehensive Passenger Name Record (PNR) directive that would collect travel data on non-EU citizens, Schneider said national systems would use the SIS-2 to "collate data on terrorists."
