    After Minsk: Will Peace Come to Ukraine? (1049)

    The Ukrainian defense ministry is recruiting criminals to fight the independence supporters in Donbass, the Donetsk People’s Republic’s deputy military commander announced on Saturday.

    “Faced with the shortage of volunteers Kiev is now forming the  so-called ‘penal companies’ made up of criminals  to fight in Donbass, Eduard Basurin said, RIA Novosti reported.

    According to DPR intelligence, Kiev is beefing up its military muscle along the engagement line in Donbass with an additional 48 tanks, armored vehicles and around 1,000 troops already in place.

    Twenty APCs and 10 truckloads of troops have arrived in Kramatorsk and battery of Grad missile launchers, eight self-propelled artillery pieces and ten tanks are currently deployed in Annovka, Eduard Basurin said.
