Incumbent Polish President Bronislaw Komorowski canceled all election campaign events previously scheduled for Thursday following the deadly attack in Tunisia that claimed the lives of Polish citizens, Robert Tyszkiewicz, the head of Komorowski's campaign office said.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — According to media reports, among the 22 people killed by a group of gunmen in an attack on the Bardo Museum in the Tunisian capital Tunis on Wednesday, there were 4 Polish citizens.

"Due to the tragedy in Tunisia we are cancelling all of the President's election campaign events tomorrow," Tishkevich said as quoted by Polish radio.

Earlier on Wednesday, two unidentified gunmen disguised as soldiers attacked the Bardo museum in Tunis taking tourists hostages. The hostages were released in a special operation that left a Tunisian serviceman and the two attackers dead.

Both gunmen were killed in a firefight with security forces.
