MOSCOW (Sputnik) — A fresh poll published by The Guardian earlier today gave a six-point lead to the Leave camp. The looming Federal Reserve meeting on interest rates later this week also weighed heavily on the market.
The Dow Jones industrial average closed 1.41 percent lower at 17,732.48 points. The NASDAQ composite index fell by 0.94 percent to 4,848.44 points, while S&P 500 index declined by 1.72 percent to 2,079.06 points.
The Fed meeting on Wednesday will be followed by meetings of two major central banks – of Japan and England – that will unveil their interest rate policies.
