According to the company’s founder Vyacheslav Shyryaev, the project is called Nest Hotel and involves the construction of a hotel chain consisting of treehouses.
The first hotel, which will be located in the vicinity of Moscow, will include up to 30 houses built on trees as well as about 15 cottages constructed 'on water.'
Shyryaev also told Sputnik that while hotels that utilize similar concepts do exist in other countries, his company utilizes its own architectural designs and technologies, seeking to find optimal solutions for Russia’s climate and to better accommodate Russian tourists.
He also remarked that while the new hotels will mostly cater to Russian clientele, there will be programs designed specifically for foreign tourists.
"There will be special tours for foreigners, allowing them to see various corners of Russia and to appreciate its beauty over the course of ten days while living ‘up a tree’, so to speak," Shyryaev said.
He also said that his company seeks to make the new hotel chain as affordable as possible.
"The project itself can roughly be considered a ‘three-star’ and not a premium-class establishment, even though we don’t intend to conform to the star classification system," Shyryaev remarked. "We also don’t seek to obtain a certification simply to obtain some star-bearing diploma that we could hang on a wall – as long as we’re unique we don’t really need that."
