On Friday afternoon, an Autobahn police station near Wiesbaden was visited by a distraught Chinese family, reporting the loss of 14,000 euro, according to The Local.

A 27-year-old Chinese man, traveling in Germany with his wife and two children, thought the money had been stolen but did not eliminate the possibility of leaving his wallet at a petrol station, police said.

Thankfully, police officers in the neighboring Sachsenhausen district of Frankfurt received a station visit from a 48-year-old taxi driver reporting that he had found 14,000 euro in a wallet by the roadside.

The police put two and two together and the Chinese family received their wallet with all their money that same evening.

The father had left his wallet on the roof of the car during a coffee break at a service station near Wiesbaden, the capital of the federal state of Hesse. The wallet then slipped off the automobile's roof and onto the roadside.

The honest taxi driver who handed back the wallet was thanked by the Chinese family and generously given 500 euro.
