Göran K. Hansson, Permanent Secretary of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, announced the Nobel Prize in Economics Sciences in Stockholm today.

Angus Deaton of Princeton University was on Monday awarded the 2015 Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel.

Deaton, who holds dual US and UK citizenship, was awarded the prize "for his analysis of consumption, poverty, and welfare," the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences said.
